Utah Governor Reverses Decision On
Trump Endorsement After Shooting

(Just the News) — Utah Republican Gov. Spencer Cox on Friday gave former President Donald Trump an unexpected endorsement after the failed assassination attempt last weekend.

Trump was targeted in a shooting at his Pennsylvania rally last Saturday, where he was wounded in his right ear. Two other people were critically injured in the shooting, and two people died, including the suspected gunman.

Cox has been a major critic of the former president in the past, even stating as late as last week that he would not vote for either Trump or President Joe Biden in the November election. In February, Cox said it would be a "mistake" to vote for Trump, according to The Hill.

“Mr. President, I know we have some differences, and you probably don’t like me much. And that’s OK,” Cox wrote in a letter to Trump, which he shared on X.

“I’m not writing this letter looking for a position in your Cabinet or a role on your team. I have told everyone that you are going to win the state of Utah and you are going to win the presidency again. You don’t need my help and support to do that.

Election Integrity Bolstered By Federal Appeals Court Ruling Allowing Voter Citizenship Checks

(Just the News) — As the liberal U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled in favor of an Arizona election integrity law, non-citizen voting is facing pushback in both Congress and the states, as citizenship proof and voter ID become more popular.

The Thursday ruling by the court in favor of a law with restrictions on voters who don’t provide proof of U.S. citizenship follows the House of Representatives passing a bill that would also require documentation of a person's citizenship before registering to vote in federal elections. The positive momentum of election integrity measures follows states implementing laws requiring voter ID and prohibiting non-citizens from voting.

A three judge panel of the court ruled that Arizona residents must provide proof of U.S. citizenship to use the state voter registration form. The court is comprised of 16 judges appointed by Democratic presidents and 13 appointed by Republicans.

The court on Thursday granted a partial stay of the U.S. District Court of Arizona's ruling in May, now allowing part of the state's 2022 laws on federal-only voters to take effect, Votebeat reported.

Illegal Alien Known For Urging Others To Squat In U.S. Homes Linked To Venezuela Military Intel

(Amer Wire News) — Turns out, the illegal immigrant who went viral in a video urging others to “invade” American homes and claim “squatters rights” is believed to be a member of Venezuela’s military intelligence unit – or was, before coming to the United States.

Of course, that doesn’t say much for Venezuela’s military intelligence, but the man identified as Leonel Moreno was allegedly a sergeant in the unit, the New York Post reported, citing a federal source.

Moreno became a TikTok sensation after posting the aforementioned video and another clip in which he brags about all the money he was banking from government-provided benefits.

“I didn’t cross the Rio Grande to work like a slave,” Moreno said in the clip shared on Instagram as he waved $100 bills over his head.

‘I Would Do It Again’: Transgender Murder Suspect Appears To Have No Remorse After Slaying Of Parents

(Amer Wire News) — After allegedly killing his parents, a reportedly “transgender” man was said to have zero remorse in his statement to police. “I would do it again. I hate them.”

Just outside St. George in Washington, Utah Tuesday night, 28-year-old Mia Bailey, who’d legally had his name changed from Collin, was suspected of breaking into his parents’ home. It was there, according to court documents and police statements that, shortly after 7 p.m., he was alleged to have murdered his 70-year-old father, Joseph Bailey, and his 69-year-old mother, Gail Bailey.

The confusion of the suspect’s identity was immediately evident in police dispatch recordings shared by KUTV as the name Collin was presented and it was noted that the man went by Mia as officers attempted to discern who the suspect was and who had called in the shooting.

Teenage Girls Took Selfies After Recording
Themselves Beating Man To Death

(Law and Crime) — A group of girls who beat a 64-year-old Washington D.C. man to death took selfies after recording the fatal attack, prosecutors said in a report from Washington D.C. CBS affiliate WUSA. The hearing on Friday did not go smoothly. One of the girls, who was recently arrested for the incident, reportedly punched a deputy U.S. Marshal and was removed in a stretcher.

Officers have yet to identify or arrest a grown man seen on video initiating the fatal attack on victim Reggie Brown, 64.

As previously reported, officers said they responded Oct. 17, 2023, at approximately 12:54 p.m. to the 6200 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. There, they found Brown suffering from blunt force trauma.

9th Circuit Court Rules AZ Residents Must Have Citizenship Proof For State Voter Registration Form

(Just the News) — The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that Arizona residents must provide proof of citizenship to use the state voter registration form.

The court on Thursday granted a partial stay of the U.S. District Court of Arizona's ruling in May, now allowing part of the state's 2022 laws on federal-only voters to take effect, Votebeat reported.

The temporary stay requires residents who cannot provide proof of U.S. citizenship to use the federal voter registration form, rather than the state voter registration form.

Arizona is a state with the unusual situation of bifurcated elections, in which residents who provide proof of U.S. citizenship can vote in all elections while the others may vote only in federal elections, resulting in ballots cast by voters who haven’t proven their U.S. citizenship.

Boebert 'would like to be' Trump's Interior Secretary

(Just the News) — Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert this week indicated she was interested in serving as secretary of the interior under a second Trump administration.

The Colorado lawmaker is currently seeking election to a new congressional seat in his home state, opting to leave her battleground district in favor of filling the safe-red seat of former Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo. Speaking to Native Voice One, however, Boebert expressed interest in a different possible future.

"I think Lauren Boebert needs to be the secretary of interior... President Trump, I would like to be secretary of interior," she said, according to The Hill.

"I think this is actually one of the most important agencies within the federal government," she went on. "Public lands are something that are very dear to me and I’ve spent a lot of time on our tribal lands with our chairman and our councilmembers with the Mountain Utes and the Southern Utes."
