West Virginia Governor's Order Leads To Nearly 60 Suspected Illegal Immigrant Criminals Detained

(Fox News) — West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced Tuesday that about five dozen people had been detained within a day of ordering cooperation between Charleston and federal immigration authorities.

By midday on Tuesday, 58 people in the Mountain State were detained within the Regional Jail system pending verification of their immigration status.

More detentions are likely imminent, Morrisey said as he repeatedly pledged his full support for President Donald Trump's illegal immigration crackdown.

Morrisey, a Republican, and only two weeks into his term, promised a further update on his administration’s operations on Thursday, saying West Virginia has good reason to take every step possible to quash the crisis besides the fact these people are allegedly in the country illegally.

Los Angeles Wildfires: Second California
Real Estate Agent Charged With Price Gouging Victims

(Fox News) — State officials announced that another realtor has been charged with allegedly price gouging victims of the deadly wildfires devastating Southern California communities.

On Tuesday, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that the state is filing charges against a real estate agent, who was not named, alleging that they attempted to price gouge a family who was evacuated due to the Los Angeles Eaton Fire.

Bonta said that an investigation revealed that after being evacuated in the Eaton fire, the family began searching for rentals through their real estate agent and inquired about renting a Glendale home.

Prosecutors say the realtor offered the family a rental home in Glendale, but that the rent was more than 50% higher than the pre-fire rent price.

California Man Pleads Guilty After His Drone
Collides With Aircraft Fighting Palisades Fire

(Fox News) — A California man is facing up to one year in federal prison for recklessly operating a drone that crashed into a Super Scooper firefighting aircraft as the crew was battling the devastating Palisades Fire in California.

Peter Tripp Akemann, 56, has agreed to plead guilty to one count of unsafe operation of an unmanned aircraft.

Acting United States Attorney Joseph T. McNally announced the charges and plea agreement on Friday during a press conference with Akil Davis, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office.

"Flying drones during times of emergency poses an extreme threat to our firefighting personnel, who are trying to help people," McNally said during the press conference. He added that this case should serve as a warning that "if you fly a drone around wildfires, and you do so recklessly, law enforcement is going to find you, and we’re going to hold you accountable."

Exploding In Fireball At Eielson Base In Alaska

(Military News) — An F-35 Lightning II crashed Tuesday afternoon during a scheduled training event at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, causing a massive fireball and spreading debris not far from the fence line, a video verified as authentic by officials showed.

Video footage of the crash began circulating online Tuesday and showed the F-35 plummeting to the ground as the pilot slowly floated in the air in a parachute. The incident happened around 12:49 p.m. local time.

The pilot safely landed and was transported to Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fairbanks for more attention, the 354th Fighter Wing said in a news release.

An F-35A costs upward of $100 million, and the incident comes amid an Air Force-wide push on safety standards aimed at curbing expensive accidents. The crash also comes as President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, who is tasked with eliminating waste in government, have both openly criticized the production and use of the F-35, Military.com has previously reported.

Trump Says That Iron Dome Construction
Will Be 'Immediate,' Signs Executive Order

(Fox News) — President Donald Trump said that the construction of an Iron Dome-like shield for the U.S. is a top priority for him on Monday, calling for "immediate" work to be done on the project before signing an executive order.

Trump made the remarks at a Republican dinner in Florida on Monday, while commending his recently-confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. After landing at Joint Base Andrews that night, he confirmed that he signed an executive order regarding the Iron Dome on the plane.

"Pete Hegseth, who's going to be great, by the way… I think he's going to be fantastic," Trump said at the event. "I know him very well. I think he's going to be fantastic."

"He's what we need, to immediately begin the construction of a state-of-the-art Iron Dome missile defense shield, which will be able to protect Americans."

The president added that Americans "protect other countries, but we don't protect ourselves." Trump also referenced that President Ronald Reagan was interested in the system during the Cold War, but Americans "didn't have the technology."

The View’s Ana Navarro ‘furious’ At Venezuelans And Cubans Who Support Trump Amid Deportations

(Fox News) — "The View" co-host Ana Navarro blamed voters who supported President Donald Trump in the 2024 election for the mass deportations currently underway across the U.S. on an episode of the "The View: Behind the Desk" podcast on Thursday. Specifically, she mentioned being "furious" with "Venezuelans and Cubans in Miami."

Navarro started off the podcast by acknowledging that she isn't particularly upset with Trump for the mass deportations he authorized, but rather the voters who put him in office.

"The people I'm furious at are the people who, knowing who he is, because it's not like we're learning this, who, knowing exactly who he is, voted for him because of the price of eggs that are going up and keep going up, and we'll continue going up with more deportations and more bird flu and more everything," said Navarro.

Navarro continued her attack against Trump voters by singling out various demographic groups that she feels may be feeling "buyer's remorse" after casting their votes for the current president.

Republican Bill Would Block Illegal Immigrants
From Receiving Tax Breaks

(Center Square) — Immigrants residing illegally within the U.S. could no longer receive child tax credits or tax breaks for low income earners if the Safeguarding American Workers’ Benefits Act becomes law.

Reintroduced by Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., the legislation would require both parents and children to have Social Security numbers that are valid for employment in order to claim the Child Tax Credit or the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., has introduced a companion bill in the House. The U.S. Joint Committee on Taxation estimates Hyde-Smith's legislation could save nearly $28 billion over ten years.

“I welcome President [Donald] Trump’s intent to target wasteful spending and enforce immigration laws,” Hyde-Smith said Tuesday. “The environment is certainly friendlier now to adopt legislation that saves billions of dollars and ensures that only U.S citizens and persons authorized to work can benefit from the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit.”

New Hampshire Lawmakers Tightening
Immigration Policies

(Center Square) — New Hampshire lawmakers are moving quickly to tighten the state's immigration policies as President Donald Trump ramps up his nationwide crackdown on undocumented migrants.

On Thursday, the state Senate approved a bill that would prohibit so-called “sanctuary city” policies and require local law enforcement to support U.S. Immigration and Customs officials' efforts to apprehend people who are living in the country illegally. The measure passed by a 15-8 vote along party lines, with the chamber's Republican majority supporting it.

Under the bill, any New Hampshire city or town that adopts a "sanctuary city" policy would be subject to punitive action from the state attorney general.

The bill's primary sponsor, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Bill Gannon, R-Sandown, said a ban on sanctuary policies would "send a message that New Hampshire is not open to illegal aliens" and make the state safer.
