| Rep. Jim Jordan Refers Former CIA Director John Brennan To DOJ For ‘Criminal Prosecution’ (Breitbart) — House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) revealed that he had referred former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for “criminal prosecution” over alleged false statements regarding fraudulent Russian “Steele Dossier.” In a letter addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Jordan claimed that during a “transcribed interview before” the House Judiciary Committee on May 11, 2023, Brennan “knowingly made false statements.” Jordan noted that Brennan “falsely denied that the CIA relied on the discredited Steele dossier in drafting the post-election Intelligence Community Assessment,” and that Brennan also “falsely testified when he told the Committee that the CIA opposed including the Steele dossier in the ICA.” The letter pointed out that while Brennan “falsely denied” that the CIA had “relied on the discredited Steele dossier” when drafting the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), on January 6, 2017, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), CIA, and the National Security Agency “published a declassified version of” an ICA with the title “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections.” See full story |
Trump Media Blasts Jack Smith For Subpoenaing Bank Records (Just the News) — Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) CEO Devin Nunes on Wednesday night blasted former Special Counsel Jack Smith for subpoenaing the company's bank records as part of his probe into President Donald Trump. Nunes said TMTG was one of the 400 Trump-aligned individuals and organizations that Smith "spied on" in his probes, and that Smith's team issued a "shockingly broad, secret subpoena for our banking records." "This is a stunning abuse of power against a private business and our hundreds of thousands of retail investors, especially since Trump Media did not even exist at the time of the events Jack Smith was supposedly investigating," Nunes posted on Truth Social. "We now need to know what the [Securities and Exchange Commission] and J.P. Morgan knew about this blatant malfeasance, when did they know it, and whether anyone leaked our bank records." | FBI Arrests Nine Anti-ICE Activists Responsible For Political Violence Over Summer (Just the News) — The FBI on Wednesday morning arrested nine anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activists who were allegedly responsible for political violence at riots in Los Angeles over the summer. President Donald Trump in June had to send the California National Guard into the state's largest city to help quell the unrest, which was triggered by the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration and mass deportation efforts. One of the protesters that was arrested in the early morning raid allegedly damaged a vehicle belonging to immigration agents during a marijuana farm raid near Los Angeles, according to Fox News. "I want to be very clear. Every American has a right to peacefully protest," Bill Essayli, the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, said during a news conference. "What is not constitutionally protected is a right to engage in violence, or to impede federal agents by assaulting or doxing or obstructing their operations." See full story |

| FDA Pulls Hundreds Of Thousands Of Blood Pressure Pills Over Impurity (Cleveland.com) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has ordered the recall of over 580,000 bottles of a commonly prescribed blood pressure drug after tests revealed unsafe levels of a potentially carcinogenic impurity. The FDA said the drug in question is prazosin hydrochloride, sold in 1 mg, 2 mg and 5 mg capsule strengths. Multiple bottle sizes, from 100-count to 1,000-count bottles, with expiration dates between October of this year and February 2027 are affected. Regulators flagged unusually high amounts of an impurity called “N-nitroso prazosin impurity C” that exceeded the FDA’s acceptable safety thresholds, EatingWell reported. According to the Houston Chronicle, the recall has been classified as Class II, meaning the impurity may cause temporary or reversible health effects, though the risk of serious harm is considered remote. EatingWell said officials urged patients not to abruptly stop taking their medicine, but to contact their doctors or pharmacists and arrange for a safe replacement. Pharmacies are being directed to remove the affected lots from circulation, and distributors must coordinate the return of the recalled products. Se full story |
Hegseth: U.S. Launched Three Strikes On Drug Boats In Eastern Pacific, Killing 14 (Just the News) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday that the U.S. military conducted three strikes in the eastern Pacific on suspected drug-smuggling boats, killing 14, and leaving one survivor. Hegseth posted on X on Tuesday that the strikes occurred on Monday on four boats "operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations (DTO) trafficking narcotics in the Eastern Pacific. The four vessels were known by our intelligence apparatus, transiting along known narco-trafficking routes, and carrying narcotics." "All strikes were in international waters with no U.S. forces harmed," he later added. "Regarding the survivor, USSOUTHCOM immediately initiated Search and Rescue (SAR) standard protocols; Mexican SAR authorities accepted the case and assumed responsibility for coordinating the rescue. "The Department has spent over TWO DECADES defending other homelands. Now, we’re defending our own. These narco-terrorists have killed more Americans than Al-Qaeda, and they will be treated the same. We will track them, we will network them, and then, we will hunt and kill them," he concluded. See full story |
| Trump's Order Brings Back Toppled Confederate Monument As Democrat Fumes (Fox News) — A bronze statue of Confederate Gen. Albert Pike, which was toppled by demonstrators in 2020 following George Floyd’s death, was reinstalled this past weekend in Washington, D.C. The statue, which stands 11 feet tall atop a 16-foot granite pedestal, was pulled down with ropes, spray-painted with graffiti and set on fire by demonstrators who viewed it as a symbol of systemic racism and the Confederacy. The vandalism occurred on June 19, 2020, also known as Juneteenth, the day that recognizes the end of slavery in the United States. It came as a wave of protests and riots swept the country after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The statue had been in storage for five years, but crews were seen placing it back on the pedestal on Saturday near Judiciary Square. The memorial stands near the corner of 3rd and D Streets NW. The effort to restore the statue stems from President Donald Trump’s 2020 executive orders on "Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful" and "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History." Moms For Liberty Activist Beats Defamation Suit By DEI Employee Over 'Woke,' 'White Savior' Jabs (Just the News) — A Moms for Liberty activist in Wisconsin described a onetime "social justice coordinator" in the local high school as a "white savior" and "woke" woman with a "god complex." She said the employee is emblematic of diversity, equity and inclusion specialists who earn more than the district's teachers, "woke lunatics … bullying you into silence and compliance," and should "forfeit her job to a person of color" if she "really wants to promote equity." Scarlett Johnson spent nearly 1,100 days defending herself against a defamation suit by the coordinator, Mary MacCudden, before a divided state appeals court cleared her name this week, overturning a lower court that said a jury should consider whether Johnson's hyperbolic language implied factual assertions about MacCudden. The duration of the litigation shows the ongoing legal and financial peril for parental rights activists who criticize government employees using language typical of conservatives against those they consider progressive, authoritarian and hypocritical.
