AP Slammed For Giving Terror Leader More Respect Than A U.S. Senator In Recent Obituaries (Fox News) — Social media users blasted the Associated Press for its recent obituary headline for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, describing it as kinder to the terror leader than the outlet’s obituary for late U.S. senator Jim Inhofe. The AP News headline marking Nasrallah’s death this week referred to the Hezbollah boss as "charismatic and shrewd," while the outlet’s headline for Inhofe’s death in July painted the late lawmaker in a bad light, reminding readers he "called human-caused climate change a ‘hoax.’" Observant X users noticed the difference in tone between the two obituaries. Prominent conservative account @AGHamilton29 remarked, "This is actual enemy of the people stuff." He also noted that the article left out Hezbollah’s "entire history of terrorism, describes their mass starvation and murder as ‘taken part in the conflict in neighboring Syria’, and tries to paint him as a ‘moderate.’" The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Nasrallah was killed in its strike against the group’s headquarters in Lebanon on Friday. Nancy Pelosi's Husband Sold More Than $500K In Visa Stock Ahead Of DOJ Action (Fox Business) — Former Speaker of the House and current Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is receiving attention once again due to her husband's stock trading, this time over her spouse unloading Visa shares a few months before the federal government sued the company. Financial disclosures show the California Democrat's husband, Paul Pelosi, sold 2,000 shares of Visa on July 1, for at least $500,000. It is unknown how much, if any, profit the Pelosis made in the transaction. The X account "Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker" flagged the trade on Tuesday, the same day the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Visa, alleging that the company maintained an illegal monopoly over the U.S. debit card market. Rep. Pelosi's congressional office did not immediately respond Wednesday to FOX Business' request for comment on the trade. See full story |
EVs Still So Unpopular That Car Thieves Won’t Even Steal Them (MRC) — Despite government subsidies, mandates and promotion, demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is still so low that car thieves don’t think they’re worth stealing – but, if they are stolen, they’ll cost more to replace than traditional, gas-powered vehicles. While the Biden-Harris Administration provides tax credits to people who buy electric vehicles, there are no such incentives for those who might steal them. A record number of vehicles were stolen in the U.S., but electric vehicles were far less likely to be stolen, a Highway Loss Data Institute analysis of insured vehicles model years 2021-23 finds. Four of the six vehicles with the lowest frequencies of theft are electric, with Tesla models accounting for half of those, according to the study. In fact, all three of the vehicles with the lowest odds of being stolen were Teslas, with one model rating the safest from theft – by far. See full story |
Alleged Sex Worker And John Exit NYC Brothel 24 Hours After Police Raid It (Fox News) — A long commercial strip in Queens, New York City, has become such a hotbed for open-air prostitution that when police raided a brothel there last week, the same cathouse was open for business again within 24 hours, an astonishing Fox News Digital video shows. Fox News Digital visited the seedy strip of Roosevelt Avenue in Queens – part of which encompasses Democratic Squad Member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s district – to report on the law-breaking behavior in the area and was conducting an interview outside the nearby brothel when an alleged sex worker and her client walked out of the building. The building, a former beauty salon, appears closed due to metal shutter doors covering the storefront, but a makeshift door has been cut out of it. Two CCTV cameras are stationed overhead. The woman, wearing tight gym shorts and a black top, briefly looks at the Fox News Digital camera and then makes a dash towards Roosevelt Avenue with her young client fixing himself and then following closely behind her. Car Dealerships Expected To Feel Effects Of Port Strike: Have Repairs Done Now, Expert Says (Fox Business) — The looming work stoppage by dockworkers at ports throughout the East and Gulf coasts could severely disrupt car dealerships around the country. An extended port strike would delay the arrival of new car inventory, which would drive up costs for potential buyers. Not only would it be harder and more expensive to buy a car, but the lack of essential parts and materials would hinder maintenance repairs on existing vehicles as well. The International Longshoremen's Association is negotiating on behalf of 45,000 dockworkers at three dozen U.S. ports from Maine to Texas that collectively handle about half of the country's seaborne imports. It warned its members are prepared to strike if they do not have a new contract by the Oct. 1 deadline. Tom Maoli, owner of New Jersey-based Celebrity Motor Car Co., said that before the pandemic, he was used to having three to six months' worth of inventory on the lot. Today, the business only has about 30 to 45 days' worth of inventory. See full story |
Now Thugs Are Drilling Into Vehicles To Steal Gas In Lawless Commiefornia (Discern Report) — An Inland Empire resident is warning others after thieves targeted and drilled into her vehicle to steal gasoline. The incident occurred on Sept. 19 as Heather Velasco parked her truck outside Kindred Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga where she works. Later that day, she and a coworker were heading out to lunch when she approached her truck and noticed a strong gasoline odor. Thinking it was emanating from a nearby diesel truck, they got into the car and began driving but immediately, Velasco knew something was wrong. Her truck was only three years old, so she was surprised anything would be malfunctioning. “We drove across the street and my car started sputtering,” she recalled. She eventually pulled over and that’s when she discovered someone had drilled into her truck’s fuel tank to empty the vehicle. See full story |
