Trump Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

(Trending Politics) — President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) making the announcement on X Monday morning. “Today I will nominate @realDonaldTrump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No one deserves it more,” Issa wrote in a post that quickly gained traction online.

The decision to nominate Trump follows a tense meeting last week in which he reportedly asked Zelenskyy to leave the Oval Office after a fiery exchange over U.S. military aid. Trump later stated that Zelenskyy had “disrespected” the United States and suggested that Ukraine was using America’s involvement as leverage rather than genuinely seeking peace.

Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize will likely serve as a symbolic nod to his non-interventionist stance, particularly as his campaign for a second term continues to emphasize an “America First” approach.

A spokesperson for Issa also highlighted Trump’s endeavors to foster peace in the Middle East. “Congressman Issa recently led a Congressional delegation to four Middle East nations -- he observed first-hand and from several heads of state that the spirit of peace and moving away from conflict is real and multilateral,” said Jonathan Wilcox, Issa’s deputy chief of staff and communications director, in remarks to The Hill.

FEMA Fired Three Supervisors Following Probe
Into Crew Told To Avoid Trump-Supporting Homes
Hit By Hurricane Milton

(NY Post) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has fired three more supervisors following an internal probe into claims a crew of disaster relief workers were told to avoid Trump-supporting homes hit by Hurricane Milton in Florida, The Post can exclusively reveal.

Cameron Hamilton, the current acting administrator of the agency, announced in a Tuesday letter to Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) that an “exhaustive investigation” had concluded the supervisors failed to “meet our standards of conduct” or rein in their partisan underlings’ behavior.

“[I]t is essential that the entire workforce understand that this incident was reprehensible, and this type of behavior will not be tolerated at FEMA,” Hamilton wrote.

“Further, in accordance with my commitment, and that of President Trump and [Homeland Security] Secretary [Kristi] Noem, to ensure that Americans receive impartial assistance from FEMA, I have directed a comprehensive additional training for FEMA staff to reinforce that political affiliation should never be a consideration in the rendering of assistance.”

 Stranded NASA Astronaut's Daughter Finally
Breaks Silence As She Lashes Out: 'negligence'

(Daily Mail) — The teen daughter of stranded NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore has spoken out about her dad for the first time, blaming 'negligence' for him being 'stuck in space.'

In a heartbreaking video quietly uploaded to social media last month, Daryn, 19, said that her father had 'missed out on a lot' during his uncertain nine-month stay in space – including Christmas and her parents' 30-year wedding anniversary.

Wilmore's wife and his two daughters live in Houston, Texas, where they have been patiently awaiting his return since June of last year.

'It's been hard if we're completely honest', she said. Daryn said her frustration about her father's stay was 'less the fact that he's up there' and 'more the fact of why.'

As He Makes First Federal Court Appearance

ISIS-K member Mohammad Sharifullah made his first federal court appearance in Virginia Wednesday on a charge of providing and conspiring to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization resulting in death.

He wore a light-blue jail jumpsuit and listened through headphones as an interpreter translated the proceedings, according to the Associated Press.

His public defender declined to comment after his court appearance, which ended with him being held until at least a detention hearing set for Monday.

Vance Does Victory Lap At Border:
‘All It Took Was A New President’

(Daily Wire0 — Vice President JD Vance touted the steep decline in illegal border crossings and outlined the administration’s goals for the border wall while visiting the southern border Wednesday afternoon.

Vance visited Eagle Pass, Texas, Wednesday along with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, to meet with Border Patrol, take a helicopter tour of the area, and touch base with local and state officials.

“The reason why we’ve seen a 98% reduction of border crossings … is because President Trump has empowered – and, in fact, demanded – that his whole government take the task of border control seriously,” Vance said while speaking at the border. He added that, in order to secure the border, “we didn’t need new laws, we didn’t need fancy legislation, we just needed a new President of the United States.”

He also articulated the administration’s goals for the border wall, noting that “the President’s hope is that by the end of the term we build the entire border wall.”

U.S. Yanks First Visa Of Foreign Student Linked
To 'Hamas-Supporting Disruptions' On College Campus

(NY Post) — The State Department has yanked the first visa of a foreign student linked to “Hamas-supporting disruptions” after President Trump vowed to crack down on those involved in anti-Israel protests on college campuses.

“We revoked the first visa of an alien who was previously cited for criminal behavior in connection with Hamas-supporting disruptions,” a State Department spokesperson said in a Thursday statement first obtained by Fox News.

“This individual was a university student. [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] will proceed with removing this person from the country.”

Neither the student’s name nor nationality was released due to “legal constraints.”

It also wasn’t immediately clear what college the student attended, or what type of protest they had been cited for participating in.

Glucose Monitors Overestimate Blood Sugar Levels

(Newsmax Health) — Continuous blood glucose monitors have been promoted as potentially life-changing for people with diabetes – allowing real-time updates on blood sugar levels without the need for repeated finger pricks.

But a new small-scale study suggests these devices might not be as accurate as many believe, and could lead some to mismanage their diets.

Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) appear to overestimate blood sugar levels in healthy adults, according to findings published recently in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

The monitors consistently reported elevated blood sugar levels two to four times more often than finger prick tests, which are the gold standard for blood glucose testing, researchers report.

Black Lives Matter Plaza In D.C.
Could Soon Be Gone, Mayor Says

(Amer Wire News) — Despite all the theater that went into capitulating to the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, it would appear that even Washington, D.C.’s mayor can’t stop the “evolution” of the times.

Following the death of George Floyd, the racial grievance industry exploded into protests, riots, and demands of businesses and elected leaders. Whether it was the implementation of DEI initiatives or the installation of a public art piece, the Black Lives Matter organization got to work making its mark on America. One of the pieces that was designed to show solidarity with the group’s purpose was the Washington, D.C., Black Lives Matter Plaza, a two-block-long mural on the road.

A recent statement on the “Evolution of the Black Lives Matter Plaza” put out by Mayor Muriel Bowser implies that the massive installment may not be around much longer.

Common Infection May In Fact Be
World's Most Prevalent STI

Health) — A highly common bacterial affliction that impacts nearly a third of women worldwide could very well be an overlooked sexually transmitted infection (STI).

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) occurs when the vaginal microbiome hosts an increase in some harmful bacteria and a decrease in protective species, which can lead to an unpleasant 'fishy' smell, abnormal vaginal discharge, burning, or itching (although many have no symptoms at all).

In the past, scientists have argued that BV doesn't meet the requirements of an STI because the bacteria come from within. But that may not be true in all cases.

While BV is considered both treatable and curable, some scientists have pointed out there is an "unacceptably high proportion" of women (around 50 percent) experiencing BV recurrence within 6 months of taking a week-long antibiotic, leaving them vulnerable to risks of infertility, premature births, and low birth weight for infants.

Woman Stung By Scorpion While Getting Luggage
At Boston's Logan Airport

(NBC News) — A 40-year-old woman was taken to a hospital Sunday night after a scorpion stung her while she was retrieving her luggage at the baggage claim area at Boston Logan International Airport.

Boston Emergency Medical Services took the woman to an area hospital by ambulance just before 7 p.m., they said in a statement to NBC News.

It's not clear what kind of scorpion stung the woman or what condition she was in.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most scorpion stings aren't serious, but they can cause "intense pain and redness." However, venom from some species "can cause severe illness, affecting the heart, nervous system, and other organs," the CDC says.

Scorpions usually live in subtropical and tropical areas, and they can be found on every continent except Antarctica, per the CDC.
