Trump Says He’ll Revoke Harvard’s Tax-Exempt Status (Fox News) — President Donald Trump declared Friday that "We are going to be taking away Harvard’s Tax Exempt Status," saying "It’s what they deserve!" The announcement from Trump comes after Fox News reported last week that his administration asked the Internal Revenue Service to revoke Harvard University’s tax-exempt status. The Ivy League school's failure to address antisemitism on campus is grounds for losing its 501(c)(3) status, sources said at the time. "The government has long exempted universities from taxes in order to support their educational mission. The tax exemption means that more of every dollar can go toward scholarships for students, lifesaving and life-enhancing medical research, and technological advancements that drive economic growth. There is no legal basis to rescind Harvard’s tax-exempt status," a Harvard University spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Friday, noting that Harvard provided more than $749 million in financial aid during fiscal year 2024. "Such an unprecedented action would endanger our ability to carry out our educational mission. It would result in diminished financial aid for students, abandonment of critical medical research programs, and lost opportunities for innovation," the spokesperson added. See full story |
U.S.-Iran Nuke Talks Postponed As Pete Hegseth Warns Tehran Will 'pay' For Houthi Support (NY Post) — Talks between the United States and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program set for this weekend have been scrapped, according to the government of Oman, which has been mediating deliberations between the two sides. A fourth round of discussions had been scheduled to take place in Rome on Saturday, but were postponed due to “logistical reasons,” Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi revealed on X Thursday. “New dates will be announced when mutually agreed,” added al-Busaidi, who did not elaborate on the “logistical reasons.” Iran’s Foreign Ministry claimed that the meeting was delayed “at the request of Oman’s foreign minister,” while an unidentified source claimed to the Associated Press that Washington “had never confirmed its participation” in Saturday’s planned talks but was expecting conversations to take place “in the near future.” On Wednesday night, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued an ominous threat against Iran over its ongoing backing of Yemen’s Houthi rebels, whose attacks on Red Sea shipping have drawn the attention of the US Navy. Colorado Will Force Taxpayers To Fund Abortions; Gov. Polis Says It's The 'Will Of Voters' (Christian Post) — The state of Colorado will require taxpayers to fund abortions as the state continues to place a high emphasis on abortion access. Colorado's Democratic Gov. Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 25-183 into law Thursday, authorizing the use of state funds to pay for abortions. The measure was previously approved in a 22-12 vote by the Democrat-controlled Colorado Senate and a 40-21 vote in the Democrat-controlled Colorado House of Representatives. The vote fell along party lines in the Senate, with all Democrats supporting it and all Republicans opposing it, while one Democrat joined Republicans in opposing it in the House. While Colorado law required "all individual and group health benefit plans issued or renewed in this state" in some circumstances to "provide coverage for the total cost of abortion care," Section 50 of Article V of the Colorado Constitution has prohibited the use of public funds to pay for abortions. Democrats Show Solidarity With MS-13 By Getting New Face Tattoos WASHINGTON, D.C. (Babylon Bee) — In a beautiful display of solidarity with deported gang members, top Democrats had "MS-13" tattooed directly onto their foreheads. Several members of Congress, including Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer, traveled to "Big Dave's Ink" to have the logo of the notoriously violent gang emblazoned forever on their faces. "We stand with Garcia. We stand with MS-13," said Schumer, pointing to his forehead. "Let there be no doubt who we are fighting for. It's literally tattooed on our faces. We are with you, gang people." See full story |
Walz Admits He Was Essentially A ‘DEI Pick’ For The Harris Campaign (Amer Wire News) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is happily admitting that Vice President Kamala Harris brought him into her campaign to “code talk to white guys.” As the failed vice presidential candidate continues his self-described “listening tour” at a Harvard Kennedy School forum on Monday, he revealed that he was essentially chosen to sell Harris’s agenda to stereotypical white people. He explained that he was chosen because “I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck,” which would “put them at ease.” He even described himself as a “permission structure” for white folks in the country to vote Democrat in the 2024 election. “I think I’ll give you pretty good stuff, but I’ll also give you 10% problematic,” he said when asked why he didn’t take that message to cable news media by ABC News national political reporter Brittany Shepherd. Earlier in April, Walz laid out his potential political aspirations to Jake Tapper by dismissing any talk that he is planning to make another play for the White House. He is, however, considering another gubernatorial run. See full story |
Four House Democrats Remove Themselves From Trump Impeachment Resolution (Wash Examiner) — Four House Democrats removed themselves as cosponsors of an impeachment resolution targeting President Donald Trump after they found out it did not run through the proper channels for approval. Reps. Robin Kelly (D-IL), Kweisi Mfume (D-MD), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), and Jerry Nadler (D-NY) signed on to Rep. Shri Thanedar’s (D-MI) seven articles to impeach Trump on allegations of abuse of power, constitutional violations, and tyranny. Thanedar filed the resolution on Monday, but by Thursday, all four co-sponsors had removed their names, claiming that they were either added mistakenly or were unaware the measure had not been approved by leadership. A spokesman for Mfume said the congressman “removed himself as a cosponsor from H. Res. 353 because he was made aware it was not cleared by Democratic leadership and not fully vetted legally – and he preferred to err on the side of caution.” See full story |

The University of Massachusetts physics student was granted release by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jessica Hedges due to “serious and ongoing” medical needs – which include gender-affirming medical care that requires daily medication as well as mental health support, according to KMBC. McIntire is also on the autism spectrum and was diagnosed with both ADHD and depression, all of which require medications and treatments that excuse him from remaining in prison, his lawyers successfully argued. Authors Of National Climate Assessment Dismissed By Trump Administration (Wash Examiner) — The Trump administration fired all scientists working on the National Climate Assessment, an extensive report on the effects of climate change on the United States. Given the reduced personnel working on the report, its future may be in danger. The reports are released every few years, and the next one was set to be due in 2028. The report informs state and local governments on how to prepare for natural disasters and other weather events, such as droughts, floods, and heat waves. Researchers received an email on Monday informing them that the scope of the report “is currently being reevaluated” and that all contributors were being dismissed. “We are now releasing all current assessment participants from their roles,” the email said, according to the New York Times.
