Trump Announces MAHA Advocate Casey Means Will Be New Surgeon General Nominee (Fox News) — President Donald Trump revealed a new pick for surgeon general on Wednesday, saying he will now nominate Dr. Casey Means for the job. "Casey has impeccable ‘MAHA’ credentials, and will work closely with our wonderful Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans," Trump said late Wednesday afternoon in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. "Dr. Casey Means has the potential to be one of the finest Surgeon Generals in United States History." Means, a vocal "Make America Healthy Again" proponent, played a significant role in helping shape the administration's agenda surrounding health, alongside her brother, Calley Means. She is a Stanford-trained physician and has made a name for herself as a wellness influencer alongside her brother. In 2024, both Casey and Calley co-wrote a book about the chronic disease epidemic titled "Good Energy," and Casey is also the co-founder of a health-tech company called Levels. See full story |
Trump Taps Fox's Jeanine Pirro As Interim U.S. Attorney (Fox News) — President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is naming Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, a former county prosecutor and elected judge, to be the top federal prosecutor for the nation’s capital after rescinding the nomination of his first choice. Pirro, who joined Fox News in 2006, co-hosts the network’s show “The Five” on weekday evenings. She was elected as a judge in New York’s Westchester County Court in 1990 before serving three terms as the county’s elected district attorney. Trump tapped Pirro to at least temporarily lead the nation’s largest U.S. Attorney’s office after pulling his nomination of conservative activist Ed Martin Jr. for the position. Trump withdrew Martin from consideration after a key Republican senator said he could not support Martin for the job due to his defense of people who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. “He’s a terrific person, and he wasn’t getting the support from people that I thought,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday. He later added: “But we have somebody else that will be great.” See full story |
Hegseth Orders Pentagon To Start Removing Transgender Troops From Military (National Review) — Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered the Pentagon to immediately start removing transgender troops from military service, in an internal memo issued Thursday, two days after the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration could begin enforcing the ban while litigation plays out in lower courts. Under its new instructions, the Department of Defense will begin kicking out some 1,000 transgender service members and give others 30 days to identify themselves for removal. The memo directs active-duty transgender troops to voluntarily leave the military by June 6. Those in the National Guard and Reserves have until July 7. “On conclusion of the self-identification eligibility window, the Military Departments will initiate involuntary separation processes,” the memo states. The latest directive mirrors a similar memo that the department issued in February, but that action got held up by various lawsuits. Before a court ruling in March that halted the ban, about 1,000 transgender troops came forward. See full story |
With Fentanyl Trade Targeted by Trump, Cartels Move To Oil Smuggling (Newsweek) — As President Donald Trump promises to crack down on fentanyl trafficking across U.S. borders, Mexican cartels are hedging their bets with a revived tactic: smuggling stolen oil into the United States and selling it to American buyers, according to the U.S. Treasury Department. In a recent warning to financial institutions, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) said groups now considered Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) – including the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels in Mexico – are stealing fuel from Mexico's state energy company and selling it onto small U.S. companies along the southern border. Cartels have stolen billions of dollars' worth of crude oil from Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) and then smuggled it across the U.S.-Mexico border as "waste oil" to sell onto "complicit, small U.S.-based" oil and natural gas companies, the report said. Those businesses stretch from the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas to southeastern New Mexico, while companies in Houston and Dallas, Texas, were also linked to the illicit trade. See full story |
IDF ‘Completely Disables’ Houthi-Controlled Sanaa Airport In Strikes On Yemen Capital (ToI) — Israeli warplanes carried out a wave of airstrikes in Yemen on Tuesday afternoon, which the military said “completely disabled” Sanaa International Airport in the Houthi-controlled capital and hit other targets. The strikes, for the second day in a row, came in response to the Iran-backed group’s repeated missile and drone attacks on Israel, including one missile that hit inside the grounds of Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces said. Dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved in the strikes on Yemen on Tuesday, including fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes. The IDF said the fighter jets dropped 50 munitions on the targets. Sanaa International Airport, which had been hit once by the IAF before, was “completely disabled” following strikes within 15 minutes that targeted its runways, aircraft, and infrastructure, the military said. Former Israeli Hostage Obliterates Pulitzer Board For Giving Award To Hamas Apologist (Daily Wire) — British-Israeli Emily Damari, 28, was held hostage by Hamas terrorists for 15 months – and on Thursday, she laid into the Pulitzer Prize Board members for honoring a man who repeatedly sided with her captors in the aftermath of the horrific October 7th attacks. Damari took to X to write her response to the news that writer Mosab Abu Toha – whose social media was rife with accusations referring to the Israeli hostages as “killers” and questioned forensic reports detailing the brutal murders of Ariel and Kfir Bibas – had been awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his essays on Gaza. “Dear Members of the @PulitzerPrizes board, My name is Emily Damari,” she wrote. “I was held hostage in Gaza for over 500 days. On the morning of October 7, I was at home in my small studio apartment in Kibbutz Kfar Aza when Hamas terrorists burst in, shot me and dragged me across the border into Gaza. I was one of 251 men, women, children, and elderly people kidnapped that day from their beds, their homes, and a music festival.” See full story |
Two State Capitals Adopt LGBT Flags As Official City Flags In Bid To Circumvent Law (Western Journal | C. Douglas Golden) — “Cutting off your nose to spite your face” is a metaphorical expression. I’m not letting most of you, our infinitely wise readership, at home in on this self-evident fact. Instead, this is more of a public service announcement to the family, friends, and co-workers of those employed or elected by the cities of Boise, Idaho, and Salt Lake City, Utah: Keep sharp objects away from these people for the next few weeks or anytime you hear someone saying something about their visage. Thank me later. I mention this because, within hours of each other, lawmakers in both state capitals, 330 miles away, passed laws that made the LGBT rainbow “pride” flag and other flags official city flags in order to sidestep state laws that would have barred the display of such flags. According to KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, “[t]he new flags would add the sego lily logo from Salt Lake City’s city flag to the Juneteenth, Progress Pride and transgender flags” in order to make them official city flags, essentially a move to sidestep a bill that would ban flying most flags that were not the official national, state, city, or school flags. After National Outrage, California Dems Restore Bill Making Child Prostitution A Felony (Center Square) — California Democrats reversed course, partially restoring a bill making soliciting children for prostitution a felony after national outrage over their initial gutting that even stripped its author, a Democrat, from the bill. “For adult offenders at least three years older than the minor, prosecutors will have new tools to bring felony charges,” said Assembly Public Safety Committee Chair Nick Schultz, D-Burbank, in a statement. “When the adult offender is within three years of age of the minor, solicitation remains illegal and a misdemeanor.” Despite support for the original bill from California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, Democrats previously voted to strip Assemblywoman Maggy Krell, D-Sacramento, of authorship of Assembly Bill 379 and remove the felony provisions. Schultz had previously said he would instead “host info hearings on the issue in the fall,” rather than maintain the felony provisions. The amended bill, which still makes loitering to solicit prostitutes of any age a misdemeanor, passed committee and seems to address concerns raised by other Democrats that the original version would not have been “smart criminal justice policy.” See full story |
Bernie Sanders Unveils His New Gold-Encrusted 'Beat The Oligarchy' Dirigible Sources within Sanders's office said the new airship was designed to counteract the heavy criticism the Vermont senator has faced due to his frequent use of private jets while urging everyone else to reduce their carbon footprint. "This is the only option for my travel," Sanders said. "I fly all over the country speaking to large crowds of American workers. You expect me to just wait in line at the airport like everyone else? No, that's not practical. This gold-encrusted dirigible is the best way for me to get around." Though the announcement was met with further accusations of living a far more lavish lifestyle than what he preaches others to have, Sanders's staff said there was no inconsistency. "How else should a man of his stature travel?" asked a spokesperson for his office. See full story | |
Jasmine Crockett Cuts In Front Of Handicap People To Board Jetliner (Todd Starnes) — Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was blasted on social media after photos surfaced showing the radical Democrat cutting in front of handicap people and active duty U.S. servicemembers to board a jetliner. House Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain shared a photo that showed the anti-Trump Democrat skipping ahead of two passengers in wheelchairs while boarding a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday. The Dept. of Transportation mandates that “if you self-identify as a passenger with a disability who needs additional time or assistance to board the airplane, the airline must allow you to board the airplane before other passengers.” So, it’s possible that the congresswoman has some sort of self-identified disability. Or, it could just be that she’s a rude pinhead. See full story |
Disney Threw A Fit Over ‘Don’t Say Gay’ In Florida. Now It’s Building A Park Where Being Gay Is Illegal. (Daily Wire) — A few years ago, the Walt Disney Company threw a tantrum over Florida’s inaccurately nicknamed “Don’t Say Gay” law that bolstered parental rights in education. Now, the entertainment behemoth is building its first new theme park in 15 years in – wait for it – Abu Dhabi, a city where homosexuality is illegal. Turns out the bottom line matters! Disney’s theme parks are performing well – the company reported they brought in $8.9 billion in the second quarter, but Disney shares have traded down 17.2% so far this year. Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, where sexual activity between two men or two women is punishable by up to 14 years in prison. The country’s laws reportedly originate with Sharia law. See full story |
12-Foot, Overweight Black Woman Statue Erected In Times Square As 'Contrast' To 'White Men' Hero Statues (Outkick) — So stunning, so brave. In what's being called a "contrast" to the two white men who have statues in Times Square, a new 12-foot statue of a fictionalized overweight black woman has been erected at Broadway and 46th Street. "Installed at ground level on a wide low base, the work invites engagement with the hundreds of thousands of people who traverse the plazas each day, the woman in Grounded in the Stars cuts a stark contrast to the pedestaled permanent monuments – both white, both men –which bookend Duffy Square, while embodying a quiet gravity and grandeur," the Times Square Arts group says on its site. You guessed it. This is about race. The leadership shakeup came just one day after Hamilton, a former Navy SEAL serving as FEMA's acting chief for the past several months, testified before Congress in defense of the agency's continued role in national disaster preparedness and recovery. "I do not believe it is in the best interest of the American people to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency," Hamilton told lawmakers on Wednesday, rejecting recent proposals to dismantle or severely curtail FEMA's responsibilities. President Donald Trump has voiced skepticism about FEMA's purpose, arguing that states should take the lead in responding to hurricanes, tornadoes, and other emergencies. He has also repeatedly criticized the agency's performance – articularly in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene – claiming it failed to meet expectations during the recovery effort.
