President Trump Revokes Biden EO Related To
The Lower Snake River Dams In Washington

(Center Square) — President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Thursday revoking an executive action taken by former President Joe Biden related to the lower Snake River dams in Washington state, a move that has drawn praise from those advocating for their continued operations while criticized by environmentalists.

Located in Eastern Washington, the four lower Snake River dams were built in the 1960s and 1970s by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which also operates them. Combined, the dams produce about 1,000 megawatts of electricity on average.

For years, there have been political debates in Washington as to whether or not the lower Snake River dams should be breached or demolished to help endangered salmon subspecies recover. Opponents of breaching the dams have argued that improvements to the fish passages have increased their survival rates moving through the dams, while advocates believe those rates are not sufficient to help the subspecies regain healthy population levels.

Salvadorian National With A Knife In Downtown Albany

ALBANY, NEW YORK (Justice.gov) — Tuesday June 17, after leaving his office in downtown Albany, United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III was the victim of a life-threatening incident.

Saul Morales-Garcia, an illegal alien from El Salvador, who entered the United States in 2021 after a prior deportation, lunged at Sarcone while brandishing a knife and yelling aggressively in a foreign language Sarcone could not readily identify.

Sarcone immediately contacted Albany County Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. Sarcone went back to the street and maintained a safe distance and yelled out to Garcia-Morales to gain his attention to prevent Morales-Garcia from disappearing as Sarcone believed an innocent person would be killed by Morales-Garcia.

Kim Jong Un Quietly Advances
North Korea's Nuclear Program

(Newsweek) — North Korea has begun work on a new facility at its main nuclear complex, according to the head of the United Nations-backed atomic watchdog.

The facility, which reportedly resembles a suspected enrichment plant just outside of the capital of Pyongyang, could eventually provide fissile material to expand the country's nuclear arsenal.

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has vowed to continue building his UN-sanctioned nuclear arsenal, citing the "grave threat" posed by the U.S. and its allies, according to the U.S. Director of National Intelligence.

North Korea is estimated to have around 50 nuclear warheads and enough fissile material for as many as 90. Kim's emphasis on expanding this capability – along with frequent ballistic missile tests and the abandonment of reunification as a long-term goal – has driven inter-Korean tensions to their highest level in decades.

Jewish Congressman ‘Run Off The Road’ By
‘Deranged’ Man Who Waved Palestinian Flag

(Daily Wire) — A House Republican said on Thursday that he was “run off the road” in Ohio by a “deranged” man who displayed a Palestinian flag before leaving the scene.

Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), who is Jewish, spoke about his brush with “blatant antisemitic violence” in a post on X.

“The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off,” Miller said.

Miller noted that he filed a police report with the U.S. Capitol Police, as well as the local police department.

“We know who this person is and he will face justice,” Miller said. “As a Marine, a proud Jewish American and a staunch defender of Israel, I will not hide in the face of this blatant antisemitic violence.”

 'Historic Partnership' Finalized Between
U.S. Steel And Nippon Steel

(Just the News) — U.S. Steel announced on Wednesday that its merger with Nippon, Japan’s largest steelmaker, has been finalized.

“U.S. Steel will remain rooted in the United States and continue to call Pittsburgh home. Through our partnership with Nippon Steel, we are poised to grow better and bigger, with transformative investment, cutting-edge technology, and the creation of good-paying jobs across the United States,” U.S. Steel’s CEO Dave Burritt said in a statement.

President Donald Trump approved the merger last week in an executive order. He praised the move as a partnership in which the U.S. would maintain a “golden share” of profits, as the deal will result in expanded investments in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Arkansas, Minnesota and Alabama, according to The Hill.

The “golden share” provision means that the federal government has a say in certain decisions, such as those affecting domestic steel production and the power to appoint a board member.

Border Patrol Agents Shut Down Massive 3,000 Foot Drug Smuggling Tunnel Between Tijuana And San Diego

(Fox Nws) — U.S. Border Patrol agents recently discovered and disabled a nearly 3,000-foot-long narcotics smuggling tunnel sitting beneath the US-Mexico border.

Drug TunnelAgents found the tunnel – which linked Tijuana and San Diego – in early April while it was actively under construction.

The underground passageway ran under part of the Otay Mesa Port of Entry and had a projected exit point near or inside a commercial warehouse space in San Diego, according to an announcement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Upon entering the "highly sophisticated" tunnel, authorities were met with barricades seemingly placed to prevent law enforcement from finding its entrance, the announcement noted.

Powerful Alcohol Distributor Abruptly Quits Calif. As It Takes Stand Over Problems Doing Business In The State

(Daily Mail) — The second largest alcohol distributor in the U.S. has announced it is pulling out of California, blaming rising costs of doing business in the state.

Texas-based Republic National Distributing has said that it will no longer do business in California after September 2. This has sent more than 2,500 drinks brands scrambling to find a new wholesaler and distributor in the state, which is famous in large part for its wine production.

The departure of a wholesale giant from the largest wine market in the U.S. is also a warning sign for an industry which is already struggling as Americans increasingly cut back on alcohol.

Republic National, which is based in Grand Prairie, has not suggested that politics played a role in its decision to quit California. But the news may be resonating widely in part because of the narrative it presents that a Texas company wants nothing to do with California, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Disaster Looms With California’s High Unemployment

(Pacific Research) — Currently, California currently ranks as the fourth-highest unemployment rate of any state (including the District of Columbia) in the nation, at 5.3 percent.

California’s unemployment rate steadily increased by a full percentage point between March 2023 and September 2024 and, despite continued economic growth, has plateaued ever since.

By contrast, the national unemployment rate has seen a smaller (0.6 percentage point) increase during the same period and now stands at 4.2 percent. That California hasn’t achieved an unemployment rate that low since October 2022 demonstrates the extent of its struggles in comparison to the national economy.

The state’s high unemployment figures are particularly concerning in light of fiscal difficulties that have led to payment delays for hundreds of thousands of unemployed Californians. In December last year, the Legislative Analyst’s Office released a damning report that described the State’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) Financing System as ‘broken.’

White House Has Suggestion For Jasmine Crockett
After Dem Calls Trump Supporters 'sick'

(Fox News) — White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clapped back against Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, after she accused President Donald Trump supporters of being "sick" and mentally ill.

Speaking with reporters in the White House briefing room on Thursday, Leavitt said, "It's incredibly derogatory to accuse nearly 80 million Americans of mental illness."

"The last time I checked, Jasmine Crockett couldn't dream of winning such a majority of the public as President Trump did," she said.

"The America first movement, which President Trump has built, is filled with hardworking patriots. The forgotten men and women, business owners, law enforcement officers, nurses and teachers and Middle America, as we all know from where you all grew up outside of this Beltway.

Leavitt also quipped that she hopes Crockett will continue to be a "rising star" in the Democratic Party, "for the Republican Party, at least."

Abortion Pills Could Be Polluting Drinking Water. Lawmakers Want Answers

(Daily Wire) — A group of Republican lawmakers asked EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin on Wednesday to look at the dangers of flushing the abortion pill into America’s drinking water, according to a letter first shared with The Daily Wire.

Led by Rep. Josh Brecheen and Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, the lawmakers urged Zeldin to take steps to probe whether the byproducts of mifepristone were ending up in drinking water and negatively impacting fertility. They argued that the deadly pills were not only ending the lives of unborn children, but also contaminating drinking water, making it unsafe for all Americans.

“We recognize that the greatest tragedy of every abortion is the murder of the innocent. But we are also concerned that activist bureaucrats overlooked real public health risks posed by mifepristone in their crusade to expand abortion access,” Brecheen told The Daily Wire. “With chemical abortion now the most common abortion method in America, the public deserves answers about how these potent hormone disruptors affect our water supply and contribute to our nation’s rising infertility rates.”
