Dying to Kill the "Occupiers"

I confess I can no longer hear the word "Palestinian" without seeing it drip with the blood of their own insanely suicidal killers of ordinary citizens of Israel, infants, men and women, old and young alike. Those who won't strap dynamite to themselves prefer to roll grenades into religious schools where youth are studying their ancient faith or spraying anyone, soldier or non-combatant, with bullets. It is the fact, the presence, of Jewish life that is their enemy.

It is this utter contempt for the lives of Jews that all others must understand as well because it includes them. Being a Christian will not protect you, nor being a Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist. Islam is at war with all faiths and all peoples. If the Palestinians can destroy Israel, there is no nation that will be safe from the legions of Islamic holy warriors pledged to Jihad.

David Ben Gurion, one of the founders of Israel and its first president, in a proclamation announcing the establishment of Israel, wrote "It is the natural right of the Jewish people, like any other people, to control their own destiny in their sovereign state." As the 1800s came to an end, Jews began to immigrate to Palestine for the purpose of creating a Jewish State. They called it the "Aliya", the return.

In 1921, Winston Churchill, then Britain's colonial secretary, visited Jerusalem, expressing sympathy for the Zionist cause and, a year later, reaffirmed the Balfour Declaration of 1917 that voiced Britain's support for a Jewish State. By the 1930s the war clouds had darkened over Europe. Six million Jews would not escape the fate the Nazis decreed, but, from British administered Palestine, 130,000 Jewish men and women joined the Jewish Brigade to fight side by side against the Nazis.

When the newly established United Nations agreed on November 29, 1947 that a Jewish State should be allowed to join the family of nations, 33 countries voted in favor and 13 Arab states voted against the report issued by the UN Special Committee on Palestine. By December, indigenous Arabs began to flee the area allotted to the Jewish State. They were encouraged by neighboring Arab states. They and their descendents would become the oldest body of refugees in history, refused citizenship to this day in the nations to which they had fled.

When the Arab nations attacked, the total population of Jews in Israel was barely 650,000. By contrast, there were 1,200,000 Arabs in what had been Palestine and another 30,000,000 in the surrounding states. The first campaign against the Jews lasted four weeks. In its aftermath, a UN emissary requested Jews and Arabs to renew the truce that had followed. The Arabs refused.

Their descendents, the self-anointed "Palestinians" call the Israelis "occupiers" with every breath. How can you be an occupier in a sovereign land that has existed since May 1948? One whose origin goes back two millennia? How can you be an occupier when you can not dig into the ground of Israel anywhere without unearthing the shards of ancient Israelis, their castoff containers of olives, wines, and, yes, their books.

In a recent speech, Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-OK) spoke of what the area called Palestine was like in the past. He noted that, in 1867, Mark Twain visited the area, later calling it "A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but it given over wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human being on the whole route. There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country."

Where were the so-called "Palestinians" whose supposed descendents cry out their love of the land?

Sen. Inhofe cited a 1913 report by the Palestinian Royal Commission, a British entity, that described the conditions on the coastal plain along the Mediterranean Sea. "The road leading from Gaza to the north was only a summer track, suitable for transport by camels or carts. No orange groves, orchards or vineyards were to be seen until one reached the Yavnev village. Houses were mud. Schools did not exist. The western part toward the sea was almost a desert. The villages in this area were few and thinly populated. Many villages were deserted by their inhabitants."

Where were the "Palestinians" for whom the land is so sacred? Where were those who toiled to turn it into rich groves filled with oranges, grapes, fruits and vegetables to feed people and to export? There were none! This is what the present-day, so-called "Palestinians" are killing Jews for. If there is a flourishing Israel today, if there are acres rich with agricultural abundance, if there is a thriving high tech industry, it is because of the Jews, the Jews, the Jews.

Occupiers? Are the residents of Texas or California "occupiers" of Mexican territory? Are those who live in Florida "occupiers" of Spanish lands? But Jews who live in Israel continue to be called "occupiers" as if they have no right to a place they turned from a desert into a thriving modern nation.

On March 12, UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, told Israel to end the "illegal occupation" of Palestinian areas, while calling on the Palestinians to stop killing innocent Jews. In other words, he used the words of the Palestinians to justify telling Israelis they should not defend themselves. Meanwhile, the radical Islamic groups, Hamas and Fatah, are competing with each other as to how many Jews they can kill before the next bogus "cease fire."

I recently saw a photo of these would-be Islamic martyrs and was struck by the similarity between them and the members of the Ku Klux Klan. Both show a preference for white hoods and sheets to hide their identity while they go about their dirty work. Look upon me and fear me they are saying, but we do not fear men who are too fearful to show their faces, knowing the evil they adhere to. If there is a Hell, there must surely be a special place for such men.

And, once again, we are hearing about a trade of "land for peace." It is a lethal fraud for the Israelis who, nonetheless, have long been prepared to make this trade. Now the United Nations has gotten into the act proposing, through its Security Council, a separate Palestinian State. The Israelis will no doubt go along with this if it can end the terrorist bloodshed they have long experienced, but there will be no cessation to the insane Islamic desire to take over the Holy Land of Christians and Jews.

Consider the obscenity of Saudis suggesting that, if the Jews will just go back to the tiny area they lived in prior to being attacked in four separate wars by Arabs, then the surrounding nations would respect their right to exist as a nation. The Saudis want Jerusalem to be the capital of a separate Palestinian state. Jerusalem! Does anyone believe anything a Saudi has to say anymore after their citizens hijacked four commercial jets in order to attack the World Trade Center and the Pentagon? Until his citizenship was taken away, Osama bin Laden was a Saudi.

Are we that stupid? Are we that naïve to think that anything they say is to be trusted? Or, for that matter, anything that the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Yasser Arafat, has to say these days? Do we believe the Iranian ayatollahs when they say they are not protecting high-ranking al Qaeda leaders? Do we believe that Saddam Hussein will not try to supply some demonic Arab madman with a nuclear or biological device to attack a US city?

The United States must change the rules of the game. We must cobble together our cringing, fearful allies in Europe and anywhere else we can find them into a "coalition" that will give us cover to do the job that must be done to protect our nation, their nations, and the future of Western civilization.

We cannot wait for Islam to undergo a Reformation as did Christianity. If its history tell us anything, it is that Islam will never, can never, forsake conquest by the sword. It will threaten the world forever.
